8" wheels are perfect for many tasks, from general shaping to knife handle sculpting and hollow grinding. Due to the larger diameter of the wheel they are also great for finishing and de-burring. The standard 19mm spigot included with the wheel allows for fast and efficient changing between your contact wheel and flat platen.
Contact wheels are also great for rapid stock removal as the diameter of the wheel opens the grain of the belt, exposing fresh grit that simply cannot be utilized in flat platen grinding.
Our billet aluminium hubs are precision CNC machined, then coated in a premium, abrasion-resistant urethane rubber – all completed in-house. The wheels are then ground concentric for a perfectly smooth and vibration free grinding experience.
The 8" contact wheel is compatible with all 84 Engineering 2x48" and 2x72" belt grinders / linishers using tooling arms included with your grinder.
